Last weekend was my first ever visit to a Sheep and Wool festival and it was the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. I had an incredible time. The sites and the people were terrific! I was on knitting overload for hours. When I first got there, I was shocked by how many cars were in… Continue reading Knitting Treasures from the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival

It’s hard to believe but a year ago today, I started this blog. Right now, I’m sitting in a local park writing this post. I couldn’t imagine this a year ago but now in addition to my desktop computer I’ve got a netbook that goes with me everywhere. That and a mobile broadband connection and… Continue reading Knit n Sew Studio One Year Blog-aversary

It’s been a very busy week. My job has been time consuming but, I managed to finish the encore baby sweater during my knitting time. Well, just about. As you can see, the buttons aren’t sewed on yet and I don’t know if they show in the photo, but I still have several ends to… Continue reading Knitting, Reading, and Podcasts Keeping Me Very Busy

Knitting, Sewing, & My Ipod Touch

April 19, 2009 DebbieLeave a comment

I didn’t post last week because I received an ipod touch and was very busy setting it up and finding out how it works. I’ve been wanting one for awhile and when I attended my school’s PTO fund raiser I was fortunate enough to win it along with $50 in ITunes cards. So I spent… Continue reading Knitting, Sewing, & My Ipod Touch

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to spend some time in Florida. It was wonderful to be warm and in the sun. Here’s one of my favorite sights, the shoreline along Vero Beach. These are my colors. The blue of the sky and the blue/green of the water next to the beautiful golden browns of… Continue reading Baby Sweater Knitting & A Day at the Beach

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I made the tribble using 2 colors and instead of all garter stitch, I varied it with stockinette stitch and garter stitch. I used Crystal Palace cotton chenille and a size 8 needle. Just be careful when you pull the yarn to make the circle as cotton chenille… Continue reading Multi Colored Pinwheel Washcloth

Weekend Sights & Knitting Progress

March 9, 2009 DebbieLeave a comment

Saturday was such a warm day. The first sign that winter is almost over. As I walked around the pond near my home these wonderful ducks were happily swimming around. It’s such a heartwarming sight to see these ducks. The pond attracts many visitors throughout the spring, summer, and fall but the ducks are my… Continue reading Weekend Sights & Knitting Progress

Weekend Visiting & A Knitting Pattern Find

March 1, 2009 Debbie3 Comments

What a wonderful weekend. I had a chance to visit the American History Museum at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC. By far the most impressive exhibit for me is still the American Flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner. It always amazes me that two hundred years ago, a… Continue reading Weekend Visiting & A Knitting Pattern Find

Beginning Apron Sewing, Again

February 21, 2009 DebbieLeave a comment

It’s been quite a week, lots of sewing and knitting. The tote bag, I spoke about in my last post is still waiting for me to hand stitch the lining to the bag, the sweater that I was diligently working on took a back seat to a few other projects after I started the sleeves.… Continue reading Beginning Apron Sewing, Again
