My Creative Life

Updating my Ravelry Queue

The last 12 months have been filled with tremendous change in my life and it shows in my knitting projects.  I spent the last few days trying to regroup my yarn and projects in an attempt to remember where I left off when the chaos began and to refocus my knitting.  I started by going through some of my yarn stash and matching it up to the patterns in my Ravelry queue.  What I discovered astonished me (although it really should not have).  In addition to 3 sweaters already in progress and 2 shawls on the needles, I have the yarn for 10 projects including 4 more shawls, several scarves, 3 more sweaters, several pairs of socks, doll clothes, baby blankets and hats and sweaters, and several pairs of fingerless gloves.  Now that’s not all my stash, there’s all the cotton yarn that I use for dishcloths along with the yarn that I’m using to design several knit pillows and a few new knitting pattern designs.

So now that I have this organized, the question is how do I proceed.  I truly love all these projects and the yarn that will be used.  Maybe I increase my knitting time each day, although that’s not likely.  I average about 6 hours a day knitting.  So I’ve decided to prioritize the projects.  Here’s the first 5 I hope to complete.

The sweater I started last week, Kiba Light

The shawl that I started today, Holmes Shawl

The sweater I started last Fall, Vitamin D

The sweater I started about 18 months ago, Garter & Lace Jacket

The Quaker Yarn Stretcher shawl that are already is the needles

Since, I’m not a knitter that works on one project at a time, I’m going to try to rotate working on these 5 along with some simple small doll clothes and scarves and a few blankets that are already in progress.

Wish me Luck! This seems like a big goal for 2017.

So how often do you take inventory of your yarn and work in progress knitting?
