Knitting a Chevron Blanket

On Saturday, I posted the swatch of the 2 color chevron pattern in Stitch Pattern Saturday.  Today, I’d like to share the completed blanket and the knitting pattern for it.

The finished blanket is made for a baby and measures 30 inches wide and 32 inches long.  Here’s the pattern:

Materials:

Bernat Softee Baby Sport Weight 2 skeins of White (B) and 2 skeins of Flannel(A)
U.S. Size 6 knitting needle (32″ circular)

Pattern:

Cast on 165 Stitches with (A)

Using (A)
Rows 1-5  Knit

Using (B)
Row 6-*K2tog, k2, (K1-f/b)twice, k3, ssk; repeat from * to end
Row 7-Purl
Row 8-Repeat Row 6
Row 9-Purl
Row 10-repeat Row 6
Row 11-Purl

Using (A)
Row 12-repeat Row 6

Repeat Rows 1-12 until blanket measures 32 inches ending with Row 4.
Cast off on wrong side.

This is an easy pattern to knit and creates a nice texture.  Pick any 2 colors for your blanket or if you’d like more color variation, replace the white section with various colors in each section.
