Fabulous Flip Top Mittens

This beautiful cornflower Cherry Tree Hill Yarn is now my favorite pair of mittens for the winter.

The yarn was purchased at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival and it is just wonderfully soft.

The mitten pattern was simple. I found it in a Red Heart Heart & Sole Yarn Pattern Booklet that has 13 patterns for items made with sock yarn. There’s also a cute Teddy Bear made with self striping yarn in the booklet that I plan on making.

Here’s a picture of the mittens with the top closed and a close up of the buttons that I used.

The buttons are from a growing collection of vintage buttons that I’ve acquired over the last few years. I have at least 10 more of these and hope to use them on a sweater sometime in the future.
