I purchased this wonderful yarn on my trip to Block Island for a Knitting Retreat in 2015 and I’ve been searching for just the right pattern to knit gloves for myself.  The yarn is 40% Cashmere and 60% Super Fine Merino and the color is called Summer Ocean.  I finally found the ideal pattern for this yarn and the designer generously offers it as a free pattern.  Here’s my Pioneer Gloves from the knitting pattern by Kelly McClure.

This is a terrific pattern.  Well written and easy to knit.  The thumb increases create a line along the palm of the hand and the ribbing stays in line.  I finished the first one in just 3 sittings, about 4 hours in total.  As you can see, the second one is already on the needles.  I’m using my favorite U.S. Size 2 wooden Knit Picks 6 inch double pointed needles.  They are smooth and the knitting moves along quickly.  This yarn is actually DK weight and the pattern calls for fingering weight so the gloves are a little thicker than they would normally be.  The results are a warm, comfortable fit on my hands.
