WIP Afghan restarted three times

The Teal Afghan (see my post of October 1) that I started many years ago with the Patons Yarn that I won for designing a doll’s dress has become my latest priority knitting. I tried to pick up where I left off but the pattern is just to complicated for right now. When I knit in the evening, I need something simpler. So knowing for sure that I want a cable in the afghan, I created a pattern with a simpler cable repeat. I got about 6 inches done but wasn’t all that excited about the look. Then yesterday, I stopped at my LYS for yarn to make the slippers in the Interweave Knits Holiday Magazine. While I was there, I found an Encore Afghan book that has the perfect afghan for this yarn. So, I have started again. This time, I finished about eight inches in my first sitting. I also bought a new Size 13 Addi turbo circular to make the afghan with. The combination of the perfect pattern and the speed of the addi needle are just right. I’m confident now that this yarn will finally be used and will create an afghan that I’ll enjoy for many years to come. I’ll post photos as soon as it’s a little longer.

In addition, I finished two more scarves in the last few weeks. One was about 90% done and has been sitting around since last winter. The other is a beautiful cashmere. I think this is going to be combined with a cashere shawl as the collar. Still working out the details in my mind.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
