My Newest Favorite Knit Shawl

When I visited the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival last May, I found this wonderful pattern called Wildflower Jacket by Margaret Fisher.  It’s actually a shawl knit in triangles.  This shawl was so simple to knit.  It starts with a triangle that becomes the center back, then 4 additional triangles are knit on either side of the original triangle.  What’s amazing is how well the shawl wraps around my shoulders and stays on comfortably.

The instructions also suggest tacking the bottom edges of the front and back triangle to form a “sleeve edge”

I’m already planning my next shawl using this pattern.  I have a cone of Bartlett Dk weight wool in a pale blue that will be great for the winter.
This shawl is made using a hand dyed superfine Alpaca yarn that I purchased at the MSWF.  It is a wonderfully soft yarn and the shawl drapes beautifully.
I’ve decided to start a notebook of my favorite patterns and this pattern is going straight into the notebook.
