Knitting a Shawl of Gratitude

As the days have become warmer, I’ve been reorganizing my knitting projects and looking through my yarn.  I have enough Bernat worsted weight yarn to make a shawl as a special gift.  In my search for a pattern, I found the Shawl of Gratitude pattern by Lion Brand. I can’t show you a photo of the shawl right now because it would ruin the surprise but showing gratitude is exactly what I want this shawl to do.

This pattern is so simple but knitting the worsted weight yarn on size 10 1/2 needles is producing a nice fabric.  The yarn is 70% soft acrylic and 30% cotton and is machine washable and dryable.  This will make it a great shawl for every day use.

I started this shawl last Sunday with hopes of having it finished today but I still have about 28 inches to knit.  My other time commitments make it impossible to make any real progress in a week’s time. My goal is still to finish it as quickly as possible.

I’m also busy making Buttercup Wristlets for my Etsy shop

and trying to use up most of the cotton yarn that I have.  I’ve made a bunch of dishcloths and now I’m working on my first log cabin blanket using up as much cotton yarn as I can.
